Justin Donlon: Musician
I was born in Dublin in 1973 and there I stayed until 2002 when I moved to Sevilla in pursuit of the only thing that ever motivated me, the guitar.
I learned the guitar late in my life in comparison to others and studied for five years at The Royal Irish Academy of Music.
I have included an MP3 recording of an original piece called “Moments Of Clarity”. It holds and follows the theme and concludes with a major D. I have chosen this specifically for the finger picking style I am developing.
The second MP3 is named “ In the Nick of Drake” and is my homage to the master.
The third is humorously titled "The Trouble with the Germans". The theme here moves from an uncertain beginning to a steady middle section and finishes in a certain resolve which hopefully makes it worthwhile!!
The fourth in named "Forward Looking Statement" and was composed this year (2008). It chose the key of E (minor & mayor) to express a melodic baseline offset with the use of repetitive "three notes" or triplets. Forward Looking Statement was designed to start with a serious and troubled beginning. After that point It took its own course.
With this piece I attempted to change my negative mindset to positive by letting themes run their course.
My personal ambition for 2009 is to complete 10 compositions and record them here in Barcelona.
Experience:
I have been composing for many years and performed in a variety of venues across my hometown of Dublin.
Upon moving to Sevilla I performed at Macarena Arts Council.
Comments:
It is important and very useful to me to find other like minded artists and musicians. I have always worked better as part of a group for the purpose of learning from them and exchanging ideas. Although I usually play solo it would be great to meet others on a similar path.
Other artistic disciplines excite and inspire me also, especially painting & film. I find ideas for composing music in many images or designs. Being involved in this network of artists should produce some exciting things and highten exposure for us all.

Other Interests:
I am very interested in composing score for film and have several ideas but need to find the correct people to move them forward. Currently I would love to speak with a 3D animator and/or a VFX genius to plan and cost a short film I wish to make.
My UTube selection is as follows and for the following reasons.

If you haven´t ever heard Nick Drake then you deserve to.
2. The Jam - That´s Entertainment.
This song is the reason I wanted to play in the first place.
