Oliver Kornblum: Artist
Oliver Kornblum is well known in Germany and abroad for his unusual paintings of the world of sailing. His pictures bursting of dynamism in expressive colours and uncommon perspectives have found many fans.
Born in 1968 Oliver Kornblum graduated in painting, graphic arts and sculpture at the school of fine arts in Hamburg.
He was influenced in his technique by the French impressionists and painting in nature and playing with the light fascinated him. Later the expressionists stimulated his joy for colours and passion for highlight certain details in his paintings.
The fastness of his stroke of the brush matches the immediate public response. Already in 2006 the uniqueness of his work was honoured with a 4-month single exhibition in the German Museum of Navigation (DSM) in Bremerhaven.
His latest motives are Barcelona and its people. He paints Barcelona lively, colourful and in its own unique light.
Not only has Oliver Kornblum exhibited his work in German galleries and museums but also in France, the Netherlands and Spain. His paintings have been sold all over Europe, to Australia, Japan, Dubai, Egypt and the USA.
Since 2006 Oliver Kornblum lives and works in Barcelona.
Here he had his first exhibition in the luxury hotel Grand Marina and was the invited artist of the Salón Náutico (international boat show) in 2008.
