Francisco de Pájaro was born in 1970, in Zafra (Badajoz). He learned to paint on his own. As a teenager, he began his career by decorating pubs with his paintings. In 1994, he started his studies in the School of Art and Artistic Works (Escuela de Arte y Oficios Artísticos) of Mérida (Badajoz), where he studied for one and a half years. He returned to his hometown and pursued several jobs, always painting in his spare time. In 1995 he co-founded Rotuletto, a company dedicated to corporate images, signs and interior decoration. In 1998 he rented his first studio space on Badajoz Street, where he created paintings in the surrealist and cubist style, under the influence of Picasso and Francis Bacon. In the year 2000, he had his first personal exhibition in Gallery Sta. Marina (Caja de Ahorros of Badajoz) in Zafra. A year later, his friend and business partner Victor García died in a tragic accident. Months later, he decided to leave everything behind and dedicate his life to painting. He moved to London and lived there for almost two years, where he held more exhibitions. In 2003 he traveled to Barcelona,for the first time, and found it to be a city that offered him great inspiration. Today, he remains in Barcelona, where he lives and paints with his own, evolved personal style.
