Trish Scott:
Artista

My work is an ongoing investigation into the construction and communication of identity. Having originally trained as a social anthropologist, I´m fascinated with society and the role possessions play in guarding memories and channeling thoughts on identity. I work across traditional boundaries to
explore the interplay between people and their belongings, between people and place. Since the start of 2007 I´ve been working primarily with found clothing. I´m interested in capturing the residual whispers of past lives and personalities in clothes and eliciting the unreliable biographies of items I find. My recent work includes paintings, ephemeral street-based installations and interactive collaborative performances.
